Please feel free to call us with any questions not answered here. Whether you build your pool with us or with another company, we want to inform and educate as many people as possible with honest information on building a pool. We have consulted on projects for homeowners across the country. We have also been called for advice by pool builders on unusual situations (unfortunately it is typically after the project has gone bad). An educated client is our best prospect.
How do I start the process of choosing a pool builder?
We suggest starting with getting recommendations from friends and neighbors. But don’t stop there. Every pool builder has had successful projects, even the ones that end up ripping people off. Take the recommendations and do some research. You can check any company out on the Better Business Bureau website (see our links page). Look for companies with zero complaints, not just resolved complaints. If someone had to go so far as to complain to the BBB, they had a nightmare on their hands resolved or not. Also, check references. Ask them when they built with the company, how the project went, and would they use the company again without hesitation. Beware of references though. If a pool company says they have built 500 pools and only gives you 30 names of their clients to contact, something is not
right.
How Much Does a Pool cost?
Many factors such as size, options, site conditions, and water features impact cost but a quality pool with a spa will start in the
$55,000 range.
Is Financing Available?
We do offer financing through Paramount Capital
Finance. They offer equity and no equity programs with fixed interest rates and payments. Often times the interest paid on a home equity loan is tax deductible. Other options are also
available.
How long will my pool take to build?
Quality pools take time to build. How long it takes to build your pool will depend on how elaborate of a design you choose and the options you have added. Our average build time is approximately 12 weeks from excavation. Please be cautious when a pool builder tells you they will build your pool in 30 days. This is just not realistic for a quality project.
Who Obtains the Building Permit?
It is our responsibility to apply and obtain a building permit before construction begins. We work closely with all local municipalities and follow all local building
codes.
What Options Are Available?
Many options are available for pools these days. Some are good, some are the latest greatest money pit. We do not offer every option available, only the ones we know that are proven. Call us to discuss what you have in mind for your pool.
Does a pool really add value to your home?
G. Stacy Sirmans, Ph.D., a real estate professor at
Florida State University in Tallahassee, and colleague
David A. Macpherson, Ph.D., decided to find out. Looking
at selling data from more than 28,000 homes, the pair
examined what attributes led to the overall value of a
home.
Bottom line, the study found that the presence of a
swimming pool “… is generally positive and significant.”
Consistently across the country, pools proved to be
positives. The study found that in-ground pools can
increase the value of a residential property from 8
percent to as much as 15 percent.
Following are some examples of how home values are
affected by pools across the United States
In the
Northeast, a pool adds 4 percent to 6 percent to a
home’s value.
In the
Southeast, the effect ranges from 5 percent to 10
percent.
The Midwest is
similar to the Northeast, with the average effect on
value being about 6 percent.
A pool seems to
weigh in the most in the Southwest, where studies show
the effect on a home’s value to be between
8 percent and 13 percent.
A pool is
important in the West, but the effect on value is less
consistent than in other areas. In the West, the average
effect on value ranges from 5 percent to 13 percent.
Go outside, and pools rank right up there with garages,
decks and porches among the external features most
frequently used in explaining selling prices. A swimming
pool “never has a negative effect on selling price,
although it has been not significant in some studies,”
the study concluded.
